    Something unexpected happened recently…

I was charged for a subscription… and it actually felt good.

First time that’s happened in a while.

Because it was my first payment for Riverside.fm ($)—and I’m loving this software.

It’s made my foray into YouTube, the recording and producing side of video content, so much easier (and better quality) that it already feels like money well spent.

I love it so much I applied to become an affiliate for them and was just approved. So, just so you know, if you end up trying Riverside and click my link, I may earn a commission (at no extra cost to you).

    Anyway… here’s why I think it’s worth it.

    No-Hassle Support

Earlier this year, I signed up for a free trial but got busy and barely touched it. Normally, that would’ve been it—trial over, too bad, so sad. But Riverside support gave me an almost two-month extension with all the pro features so I could really test it out. Almost nobody else does that.

And when I had issues applying for their affiliate program, they got back to me quickly, helped me sort it out, and even gave me ideas. Those two interactions alone made me trust what they’re building.

On top of that, they’ve got tons of training and tutorials on YouTube, so you’re never left hanging. If you get stuck, you can usually find an answer fast.

    All-in-One for Creators, Podcasters, YouTubers…

Riverside is a solid one-stop shop for podcasters and video creators. You can:

    • Record solo or with guests (desktop or mobile app).

    • Schedule and stream live.

    • Do screen shares (like Loom).

    • Edit your recordings—timeline or text-based.

    • Auto-generate captions and clips.

    • Push finished episodes to iTunes, Spotify, YouTube, and more.

Fewer tools. Less jumping around. More time making content.

    The Magic AI Features

This is where the Riverside .

They’ve got a “Made For You” feature that feels like AI with training wheels. It automatically creates:

I still run some of this through ChatGPT or Claude to make it sound more like me, but Riverside gets you 75-80% of the way there. That’s a huge time-saver.

    How It Compares

I’ve used bunch of tools over the years:

    • Recording/Editing: Descript, CapCut, Wondershare, even Sony Vegas back in the day. All solid it their own way, but more subscriptions, more jacking around between different software.

    • Clipping/Repurposing: OpusClip, Veed, CapCut, etc. Good for shorts, but not tied into recording… and again another subscription, more steps.

    • Streaming: OBS, Streamyard, Restream. All solid. But again… more tools, more logins.

Riverside might not have every bell and whistle, but it’s close and it keeps getting better. For creators who want simple, it’s enough.

Downsides (Because No Tool Is Perfect)

A few things I’d like to see:

    • More personalization in the AI content it generates would be nice.

    • Editing in the browser can feel a little slow at times.

    • Saving clips feels clunky—you need to do a full export.

So yeah, it’s not for everyone.

And if you’re trying to make cinematic masterpieces, you’ll probably want Final Cut or Premiere. But if you’re doing interviews, podcasts, or talking-head videos with screen shares… this might be all you need.

    Why I Recommend It

For me, Riverside has cut down on tool fatigue.

    Less copying and pasting.
Less paying for three different apps.
More time spent creating instead of tinkering.

That’s why I feel good paying for it and why I’m more than happy to recommend it.

And if you’re curious but don’t want to waste time poking around, I can help you shortcut the learning curve.

Drop a comment below and I’ll send you a simple checklist to get set up fast.
